Introduction

Welcome to the Gestureworks Wiki. This wiki contains FAQs, tutorials, examples and other information designed for users of the Gestureworks family of multitouch products: GestureKey, Gestureworks Core, and Open Exhibits. Gestureworks is a comprehensive gesture-based multi-language, cross platform development environment for creating multitouch applications with innovative HCI. This authoring environment was designed and developed by Ideum, an interactive design firm formed in 1999. Ideum develops custom applications and since 2008 has designed and built integrated multitouch tables.

GestureWorks Core

Gestureworks Core is a software development kit (SDK) built in C++ that enables developers to produce full multi-user, multitouch, gesture-based applications using multiple languages such as C++, C#, Java, and Python. Using the available bindings, Gestureworks Core has been designed to complement development in a wide variety of third-party development frameworks such as openFrameworks, Kivy, Java 2D, XNA, Unity3D and others. Gestureworks Core SDK presents a framework that has been designed to provide highly efficient development with scalable solutions for multi-user multitouch and high resolution multimedia interactives.

Open Exhibits

Open Exhibits is a software development kit (SDK) built on ActionScript3 that enables developers to produce full multi-user, multitouch, gesture-based applications in Flash. Open Exhibits SDK presents a framework with an accelerated workflow for rapid prototyping with simplified cross-platform distribution and embedded web apps.
